Lawrence Becks
One June 9, 2025, with his 3 oldest children and daughter in law by his side, we held his hand and said the Lord’s Prayer and guided him to God.
Some knew him as a loud man, some knew him as a great man and some knew him as opinionated. We knew him as all 3. Our dad was a valued member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 47 years spending countless hours with other alcoholics sharing experiences, strength and hope. He lived everyday, one day at a time. He was also a proud Vietnam Vet and worked for Canadian Pacific Railway for 35 years which he still speaks of the best job ever.
Dad was a grandpa that didn’t teach ABC’s, 123’s he was the one who shared dirty jokes and limericks and always had a joke to tell. He was very witty and quick with comebacks. Something we will miss.
Dad was predeceased by his wife Jan in 2019 who he missed until his last breath. He leaves to mourn his children Dee, Eric, Aaron and Andy and their families. His fur babies Charlie, Sophie and Lucy will miss him.
At dad’s request, there will be no service and cremation has taken place.
Rest in peace dad, you are loved. Please give mom a hug for us.
An Irish Blessing
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be at your back,
May the sunshine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields,
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
