It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, Manon Marie Cote, on Christmas Eve in Thunder Bay.
Manon was the embodiment of strength, resilience, and grace. Over the past few years, she faced significant health challenges, yet approached each one with unwavering courage and dignity. She will be lovingly remembered for her passion for cooking, experimenting with new recipes, and creating lasting memories with her grandchildren.
Manon had a deep love for travel, especially to sunny destinations, where she reveled in exploring local attractions and basking in the warmth of the sun, all while listening to the soothing sound of the ocean waves.
She is survived by her daughters, Angela Lewkoski of Kenora and Melissa Hrncic (Jesse) of Winnipeg, and her grandsons Ayden and Andrew of Kenora. She is also mourned by her grandchildren Ulrich and Ursula of Winnipeg. Manon leaves behind her partner Murray Johnson and his daughter Kristen.
Her siblings, Allan Cote, Serge Cote (Tammy Legault-Cote), Diane Cote, and Francine Cote, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, will also miss her dearly.
Manon’s friends, including the clients she cared for as a housekeeper, and the ladies of the Dragon Tamers rowing group, were also cherished by her. She often spoke of you all with great affection.
She was predeceased by her father, Yvon Cote, and her mother, Jeannine Cote, with whom she has now been reunited and welcomed with open arms.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Workman and the compassionate staff at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for the exceptional care they provided during Manon’s final days.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Super 8 Minis Hall on Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 11:00am – 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kenora Dragon Tamers (details to follow). Receipts to those who donate can be sent by e-transfer to [email protected]. Donations can also be sent by mail to Susan Garneys, RR1, Site 12 Box 21, Keewatin, ON P0X1C0
