An early summer storm rolled through the region Sunday afternoon. Environment Canada issued a thunderstorm warning for a wide area from Fort Frances to Kenora to Dryden. The worst of the thunderstorms hit the Kenora region around the noon hour and then over the next two hours tracked northeast to Ear Falls and Dryden.
The storm caused some power outages. As of 2:00 pm Sunday there were no reports of major damage.
Environment Canada warned the storm had the potential to bring high winds, hail and possibly a tornado.
The forecaster says weather conditions are favourable for the potential development of severe thunderstorms, which could produce tornadoes, large hail and rain.
The forecast also called for some threatening weather in the Thunder Bay region but most of the most severe weather tracked north of the city.
