It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert Langlois on June 20th, 2025.
Robert (Bob) Langlois was born on the 8th of December 1948 in the city of Sudbury Ontario. Bob met his soulmate Wendy in 1976, where together they built their lives and made a home here on Taillieu Rd.
Bob tackled many jobs through his time such as mining, firefighting, being a lumberjack, and carpentry. However, in 1984 Bob found his calling in driving taxi, where he became an owner/operator and best known by people all around Kenora and surrounding areas as “Number 24.”
Although Bob was quite well known for being strong and “stubborn as a mule,” He was all heart and would give the shirt off his back to those dearest to him.
If Bob wasn’t keeping himself busy driving, then he was often making projects of his own, like renovating the house. Wendy always knew something was brewing when she would come out to Bob with a coffee in his hand, one on the table for her and he’d start with “Ya know babe, I’ve been thinking … ”
Although Bob would joke of his “Farmer” Wendy and her “attitude” he was always backing up Wendy in everything she did, including watching the cop shows she liked although he’d tease her about them, being a silent honorary member of the Ladies in Black and one of their strongest supporters.
Bob is predeceased by his parents Yvonne and Wilford Langlois, two sisters Jeannine and Susan, His father in-law Lawrence Stevens, as well as his son Bobby Langlois, nephew Riley, granddaughter Jericha and grandson Tanner.
He is survived by his soul mate Wendy and their dog Gizmo; His daughters Leona and Rachelle (Logan), His three sisters Pierrette, Nicole (Ron) Paulette, 2 brothers Ivan (Brenda) and Ron, his grandchildren Bradley and Connor, his adopted grandchild Alexia, his mother in-law Vera and sister in-law Tracey (Toby), niece Shannon and family, nephew Dillon.
Bob leaves behind many acquaintances, friends, friends who became family, and their children who became his nephews and nieces – this including his godchild Brian.
Your love for dogs, smart wit, silly banter, genuine heart and belly laughs will be missed beyond belief, and will forever remain a part of our hearts, and “always on our minds.”
Bob’s family would like to give a huge thanks to all those involved in taking care of Bob and his well-being. Much appreciation goes out to LWDH Nurses, Doctors, Paramedics and Staff; as well as the Cancer treatment team in Thunder Bay.
Robert (Bob) Langlois celebration of life will be held August 2nd, 2025, at the Rideout Community Center from 1:00pm-4:00pm.
A donation box will be at the ceremony set up and available to anyone who may want to make a donation or memorial contribution to the Ladies in Black in the memory of Bob (#24) Langlois.
“And now the end is near
So I face the final curtain
My friend, I’ll say it clear
I’ll state my case of which I’m certain
I’ve lived a life that’s full
I’ve traveled each and every highway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way
Regrets, I’ve had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exception
I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
Oh, and more, much more than this
I did it my way
Yes, there were times, I’m sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way”
