Gerald was born on August 14, 1967. Peacefully in his sleep, Gerald passed away at home on August 4, 2025.
Gerald was predeceased by his parents, Alphonse and Aurore and brother, Gilles.
He is survived by his sister Carol (Roger); brothers, Raymond (Leslie), Robert (Wendy) and Alain; nieces and nephews, Jared (Bailey), Riley, Makayla, Rebecca, Gunnar (great nephew), Kaitlynn, stepchildren, Kellie, and Ryan. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends. He was an exemplary embodiment of a dedicated father and grandfather. They would call him papa. He will be remembered for being the world’s greatest dad and papa.
Gerald grew up in Dominion City, Manitoba where he attending school and was raised on a grain farm. Gerald enjoyed the farming life and was able to operate the farm equipment at a very young age.
Gerald lived in Nanaimo, BC for 30 years where we met his stepchildren who were a true joy in his life, that he enjoyed spending quality time with. He took pride in his home and enjoyed landscaping his property by himself in which he did an incredible job at.
In the past few years, he decided to move to Long Bow Lake in Ontario where he could be close to family and was glad he did. He had a love for his family and enjoyed their visits. He was funny, compassionate, thoughtful, and humble.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral and a private service will be done by the family. Each of us in our own special way will always remember and love Gerald as he was close to his family. Miss your smile, miss your hugs, miss your love. We will always unconditionally love you.
