There’s a lineup of events happening in Kenora this week.

The second annual Kid’s Fishing Derby is taking place this Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Rabbit Lake from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in memory of Cst. Paul Lebel.

There’s a list of prize categories: biggest walleye, pike, and smallest catch based on length. There are also prizes for the biggest largemouth and smallmouth bass, based on weight.

The age categories for this event are split into five to 10, 11 to 14, and 14 to 17.

The barbecue and prize giveaway will take place at 2 p.m.

From Aug. 21 to Aug. 23 — Thursday through Saturday — is the Kenora Agricultural Fair!

It’s taking place at 721 First St. S., with a $5 admission fee. Kids 10 and under are free.

The fair is open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, and noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

There’s a variety of things to check out, starting with midway rides, bouncy castles, exhibits, balloon animals, face painting, and a petting zoo. Tournament events will also run throughout the three-day fair.
