Damage from May 2022 high water levels led to footbridge replacement
As residents of Kenora prepare for winter, the City of Kenora will be installing the new Coney Island footbridge on Monday, November 14, 2022.
Installation of the footbridge will take place over a number of days and completion may be delayed due to the weather.
The Coney Island footbridge is being replaced this fall because the original saw extensive damage in May, due to high water levels on Lake of the Woods.
In July 2022, an engineering study found the footbridge to be beyond repair and in August, City Council approved a budget amendment in the amount of up to $225,000. (plus HST) to replace the damaged structure.
