More rain means water levels keep increasing

The Lake of the Woods Control Board is authorizing another increase in outflow from the Norman Dam.

That’s because water levels continue to go up, and more rain is expected on Tuesday.

The Lake has gone up by 6 centimeters this past week and expected to rise another 3 to 8 centimeters over the next seven days, depending on how much rain we get.

The Control Board says the lake remains in the high end of the normal range for this time of year.

Another increase in outflow from the Norman Dam is also tentatively expected on Thursday.

With each increase in outflow, levels on the Winnipeg River below the dam are expected to go up 15 centimeters, 10 centimeters at the Dalles and 10 centimeters at Minaki.
