Walk For Memories takes place this weekend

A couple of fundraisers are taking place in Kenora this weekend.

The Investors Group Walk For Memories for the Alzheimer Society takes place on Saturday morning.

Rosanna Tomashowski is the executive director of the Kenora-Rainy River chapter and says walks will be taking place in a number of communities.

“The fundraising dollars stays locally,” explains Tomashowski.

“We like to bring awareness to the community as the aging population grows and the demand for service is high.  We are very grateful for all the donations, which allows us to do what we do best.”

Registration for the Kenora walk will be taking place at 8:30 Saturday morning from the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion (Whitecap Pavilion.)

Similar walks will be taking place in Dryden and Fort Frances:

Dryden – Saturday, June 3, 2023 *Dryden High School Track – 9:30am Registration

Fort Frances – Saturday, June 17, 2023 *Sorting Gap Marina – 10:00am

Beaver Brae is also hosting the Mother’s Day run this year on Sunday also starting from the Harbourfront.

The 10 and 21 kilometer races will start at 9:45 and the 5 K run will begin at 10 am.
