The Kenora OPP have seized over 50 lbs of cannabis with an estimated street value of $125,000 after a recent traffic stop on Highway 17A. The vehicle was also seized in the investigation.

As a result of the stop, 72-year-old Ronald Roche of Bracebridge, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following Cannabis Act charges:

- Possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling,
- Possession for the purpose of distribution,
- Possession of over 30g of dried cannabis in a public place,

The accused is set to appear at the Kenora Court House on February 27, 2020 to answer to the charges.

Residents are reminded that possessing cannabis in a public place is legal if you are carrying under 30 grams of dried cannabis, in a suitable container. Cannabis must also be placed in the trunk of the vehicle while travelling.
