A 14-year-old youth has been charged after a ‘violent’ break and enter incident in the Dryden area, which caused the death of a 56-year-old man from Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation.

Police responded to the break and enter report in Wabigoon Lake on May 13, where 56-year-old Gregory George of the same community had suffered serious injuries and later passed away at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.

A 14-year-old from Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation was arrested and charged in relation to the incident on May 27. Due to the suspect’s age, their name cannot be released – but they are facing charges of:

- Aggravated Assault,
- Break and Enter,

The accused youth has been released from custody after a bail hearing and is out on a number of conditions. They’re set to appear in courts in Dryden on July 12.
