$250,000 of Drugs Seized in Dryden Drug Bust

Officers with the Dryden OPP have taken over a quarter-million dollars worth of illegal drugs off the streets of northwestern Ontario.

Police say on February 15, officers conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for a minor traffic violation. Their investigation revealed that the two occupants were both in possession of drugs and weapons.

Officers seized an estimated $254,000 of drugs from the vehicle, and as a result, a 33-year-old and a 23-year-old, both of Dryden, were arrested and charged.

The 33-year-old is facing charges of:

– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine,
– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs x2,
– Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking,
– Possession of a Schedule III Substance,
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000,
– Possession of a Firearm contrary to Prohibition Order,
– Possession of an Imitation Weapon for Dangerous Purpose,
– Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition for Dangerous Purpose x4,
– Possession of Break-In Instruments,

The 23-year-old is facing charges of:

– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine,
– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs x2,
– Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking,
– Possession of a Schedule III Substance,
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000,
– Possession of a Firearm contrary to Prohibition Order,
– Possession of an Imitation Weapon for Dangerous Purpose,
– Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition for Dangerous Purpose x4,
– Possession of Break-In Instruments,

The OPP says both accused have been remanded into custody and are set to appear in Dryden court on February 21, 2023.
