The Lake of the Woods District Foundation is once again looking for the community's support to light up the Tree of Life.
"For 34 years, the Tree of Life has been shining bright on Lake of the Woods just outside the hospital. It's always such a nice way to remember and honour our loved ones at Christmas time," says LWDHF Development Coordinator Andi Scheibler.
For $10.00 you can purchase a bulb in honour of a loved one with the proceeds going towards medical equipment at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
"There are a number of ways how the campaign helps the hospital, but this year we are focusing the funds raised to Fluoroscopy for Diagnostic Imaging. The lab had to be decommissioned back in the fall due to its age. It's a very important service that we offer. If it's not here, people have to travel and we always want to keep people close to home to receive their treatment," Sheibler adds.
In 2021 LWDHF is offering special commemorative tree ornaments available to purchase for $20 each through LWDHF offices.
"They are absolutely gorgeous! I'm obsessed. I keep looking at the ornaments!"
With each ornament purchased you will receive a charitable tax receipt, your ornament and one bulb lit on the Tree of Life
Since its induction in 1987, the campaign has raised over $1.68 million for equipment and resources at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital. Andi Scheibler joined Friday's Q Morning Show to tell us more. Listen below!
