Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation has transferred just over a $1 million to the hospital this past year.
Kim Mejia says this past year marked the return of some of their big fundraisers and that helped their finances.
“The resurgence of annual events like the par 3 charity challenge, the Lifesavers Dinner and auction, the monthly 50/50, and a matching gift component to the Tree of Life campaign, helped to raise vital funds needed to purchase capital medical equipment for our hospital,” Mejia told hospital directors at their annual general meeting.
Mejia says the addition of these events helped with the transfer to the hospital.
“Our financial success this year resulted in a total of $1,063,363 being transferred to Lake of the Woods District Hospital to support new capital equipment and facility enhancements in nearly every department.”
The Foundation’s audited statements shows they also made over a million dollars from the sale of 50/50 tickets last year.
