Staff with the Northwestern Health Unit are announcing another 8 new cases of COVID-19 across their catchment area.
Today’s cases include 3 in the Fort Frances area, 2 in the Emo area, 2 in the Sioux Lookout area and 1 in the Kenora area. Follow-up with everyone involved has started, and anyone identified as a potential contact will be reached directly by public health staff.
As of April 20, the NWHU is reporting a total of 49 active cases of COVID-19 in our region. They include 21 in Sioux Lookout, 14 in Emo, 4 in both Dryden and Fort Frances and 6 in Kenora.
Everyone is asked to assume COVID-19 is spreading in your community, and to continue following Ontario’s stay-at-home orders. Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms is asked to immediately self-isolate, get tested and remain in isolation until your test results are known.
