Staff with the Northwestern Health Unit are announcing another 11 new cases of COVID-19 across their catchment area.
Today’s cases include two new positive COVID-19 test results in the Dryden Health Hub region, three new positive COVID-19 test results in the Emo Health Hub region, two new positive COVID-19 test results in the Fort Frances Health Hub region, three new positive COVID-19 test results in the Kenora Health Hub region, and one new positive COVID-19 test result in the Red Lake Health Hub region Follow-up with everyone involved has started, and anyone identified as a potential contact will be reached directly by public health staff.
As of April 23, the NWHU is reporting a total of 68 active cases of COVID-19 in our region.
Everyone is asked to assume COVID-19 is spreading in your community, and to continue following Ontario’s stay-at-home orders. Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms is asked to immediately self-isolate, get tested and remain in isolation until your test results are known.
Today marks the 60th straight day that at least one case of COVID-19 has been reported in the health unit catchment area.
