Staff with the Northwestern Health Unit have announced 12 new cases of COVID-19 across the region.
Today’s cases include 6 in the Emo health hub, 4 in the Fort Frances health hub, 1 in the Kenora health hub and 1 in the Dryden health hub.
Follow-up with everyone involved and their contacts has started according to protocols, and anyone identified as a potential contact for these cases will be reached directly by public health staff.
As of April 27, the NWHU is reporting a total of 70 active COVID-19 cases in the region. They include 29 in Kenora, 17 in Fort Frances, 12 in Emo, 5 in Dryden, 1 in Rainy River, 2 in Red Lake and 4 in Sioux Lookout.
Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms or who has been in contact with a confirmed case of the virus is asked to immediately self-isolate, get tested and remain in isolation until your test results are known.
