Leadership with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says a staff member at Beaver Brae Secondary School has tested positive for COVID-19, and they’re working with the Northwestern Health Unit on the next steps.

All staff and students are asked to continue to use Ontario’s school screening tool before attending school daily. If a student develops any COVID-19 symptoms, they should stay home, get tested, and remain in isolation until their test results are known.

This comes after positive cases at Dryden High School and New Prospect School earlier this week, but neither had any exposure to staff or students at the school, and no classroom closures were required.

The Kenora area currently has 101 active cases of COVID-19 listed. The Dryden / Red Lake region has 4, while the District of Rainy River has 2.
