Bernard Read passed away in Thunder Bay, Ontario on June 10, 2015 at the Health Science Centre after a very short, hard struggle with lung and heart cancer. He fought to live to the end with his family by his side. He was 74 years of age.

He was predeceased by his parents Roderick and Emily Read and one brother Ted. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and soul mate of 47 years Jane, his son Ronald, his daughters, Rachel & Rosalyn (Will). He also leaves his four grandchildren, Harley, Rylie, Brandan and Hannah all of Kenora, two great granddaughters, twins, Mackenzie & Kennedy Tittlemier of Kenora, one sister Erma Bick (Don) Kerrobert, Saskatchewan, one brother Don (Amy) of Florida, two uncles Ben Baich (Joyce) and Paul O’Nell, all of Edmonton, Alberta, also numerous nieces and nephews mostly from Western Canada. In laws Rose and Chaude (Michael), Nick and Susan, Christine and John all of Kenora, Josie and Ken of Saskatchewan and nieces and nephews of Kenora.

Bernie has been cremated as per his wishes. His beautiful blue eyes have been donated to the gift of life.

A Celebration of his life will be held at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on June 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Darin Gallivan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society of Canada.
