Two powerplay goals were the difference for the Beaver Brae Broncos, as they lost 2-0 to Bowmanville in the bronze medal match this morning at the girls all-Ontario high school hockey championship in Belleville.

There wasn't any scoring for either side in the first period, and it was 1-0 after two. The Broncos end the tournament with a record of four wins, two losses and a tie. They'll bring home an antique bronze medal finishing fourth overall.

The Bronco girls advanced to the semi-finals at OFSAA following a 4-1 win over Louis Riel from Ottawa. The first game saw Hanna Rose score two goals against Guelph.

In the second game the Broncos dropped St. Christopher 4-3, and the third game which was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, saw the Broncos tie 3-3 against St. Mary's followed by a 3-0 victory over Smiths Falls.
