Kenora city council has approved over a million dollars worth of contracts and purchases at it’s open meeting Wednesday night.

The biggest purchase was for the Fire and Emergency Department for a new fire tanker truck.

The truck comes from Fort Garry Fire Trucks and cost $545,942.

Of that amount, $95,942 will be funding by internal debt financing.

The biggest tender is for the municipal line paving contract.

Northwest Lines is scheduled to be paid $350,000 to paint lines on roads in the municipality and lines for parking spaces.

The city is using almost $124,900 to cover the cost of that contract from the Roads Reserve.
