The City of Kenora has declared a Significant Weather Event because of all the snow and even more snow on the way.

By declaring a Significant Weather Event, the city is advising residents, pedestrians and motorists to expect winter maintenance service delays.

In the meantime, curbside garbage and blue box pick-up have been cancelled today and the Kenora Public Library is closed as well.

Bingo is also cancelled tonight at the Golden Eagle Bingo Hall.

All school buses are also cancelled today, but schools will remain open for students and staff that can get there.

There are no road closures to report so far, but highways are all snow-covered with near-zero visibility in heavy snow.

As much as 10 to 20 centimetres more snow is expected to fall in the next day.
