City makes sand bags available

There have been no reports of any flooding yet, but the City of Kenora wants local residents local residents to be prepared.

To that end, the city is making sandbags and sand available free of charge.

The sandbags can be picked up at the Fire Hall on Barsky’s Hill and sand is now available to fill up the bags at the Operations Center, just down the street.

The city says as temperatures increase and the snowpack melts, water levels can rise and trigger overland flooding or excessive runoff.
