Chief and Council with Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation say contact tracing is underway after a new COVID-19 case was confirmed in the community.
A statement from the community says the individual has since left the community, and Wauzhuhsk Onigum’s community health nurse will be working closely with the Northwestern Health Unit to complete contact tracing, and known contacts have already been notified.
A COVID-19 testing team will be in the community today, starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Golden Eagle Bingo Hall. Residents are asked to wear a mask when entering.
Anyone who has symptoms, or who has been in contact with a positive case, should self-isolate and get tested and remain in isolation until your results are known.
