City councillors in Kenora will be looking closely at the financial impacts of COVID-19, and how the outbreak has affected the city’s bottom-line.
Kenora Mayor Dan Reynard says councillors will be looking to approve a number of financial statements tomorrow during their council meeting at City Hall. The Mayor also says they’re continuing to look into new developments in the area.
“We’ve got meetings lined up here with some major contractors in terms of offers, and hopefully those will come into play and we’ll see some additional positive results for the community in the early fall,” added Reynard.
The financial statements include Kenora’s June, 2020 statement, as well as their second quarter investments, contracts and their annual year-end report for 2019.
Last week, Queen's Park announced close to $1 million for the City of Kenora to help offset lost revenues associated with the pandemic, while Dryden received close to $450,000 and Sioux Lookout close to $325,000.
