The COVID-19 outbreak in Unit 3E was reported on December 22.

With support from the Northwestern Health Unit – the Lake of the Woods District Hospital says their most recent COVID-19 outbreak in Unit 3E has finished.

The COVID-19 outbreak in Unit 3E was first reported on December 22 and was in effect for just over two weeks. It was the hospital’s fifth outbreak of 2022.

Leadership is reminding the public that COVID-19, influenza, gastrointestinal illness and RSV are all continuing to circulate in the region, and residents are reminded to stay home if they’re sick or if they’ve spent time with someone who is unwell.

“Together we can reduce the spread – wash your hands, stay home when you’re sick and make sure your vaccinations are up-to-date,” wrote the hospital, in a prepared release.

The hospital reminds the public that mandatory mask-wearing remains in effect.
