Cynthia Anne Norris (nee Palson)
March 19, 1956 - August 21, 2023
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Cynthia Anne Norris, at the age of 67, after a short battle with cancer.
Welcoming Cynthia in heaven are her children Crystal and Jason, parents Fred and Olena Palson, sister Lisa and niece Patricia.
She is survived by her life partner, Jim Sawers, her siblings Wayne (Cindy), Clyde (Tammy), Ward, Calvin, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and her best friend, Joan Heino.
Cynthia has always had a love for nature, especially flowers. She spent countless hours arranging her gardens around her home and using her creativity to make them unique. She was always capturing special moments with her cameras and getting the photos developed to create more photo albums. Every Christmas, she would put together little albums for her nieces and nephews. She radiated with excitement as she looked through her photos with her family.
Cynthia was born in Arborg, Manitoba and was the oldest of 6 children. As a child, Cynthia spent her time playing with the farm animals and following her brothers around as they fed the cattle. She enjoyed going blueberry picking with mom and collecting make up. Cynthia was considered to be a mother figure to so many, as she has a very nurturing personality. Although her own children, Crystal and Jason may have only been on Earth for a short time, Cynthia spoke of them often and her love for them never faded.
Cynthia met the love of her life, Jim, on a blind date while on a trip to Calgary, Alberta. This blind date changed Cynthia's path as she decided to stay in Alberta to see where things would go with Jim. After a short while, Jim moved in with Cynthia and began their life together. After about 2 years, they decided to make the move back to Kenora to be closer to Cynthia's family. This was when she became a second mother to her brother Clyde and Kathy's children, Bailey, Amber and Tyler. She was there to help raise them while Jim, Clyde and Kathy worked at the car dealership. Cynthia had many passions in life. One passion of hers was working in the kitchen. She worked at many local restaurants in Kenora and loved the people she worked with, they were like a second family to her.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday September 2, 2023 at 11:00am followed by a Celebration of Life at the Pellatt Community Centre (PUFF Firehall) beginning at 12:00pm.
