The Kenora U18 AAA Thistles are gearing up for their next road game against the Winnipeg Wild. They’ll be facing off at the Canadian Tire Rink in Winnipeg tomorrow night at 7 p.m. The Thistles are dead last in the league with 5 points after 25 games. 

The NHL is bringing back enhanced COVID-19 protocols that include daily testing and restrictions in a bid to limit a surging outbreak that has affected 140 players. The enhanced protocols will be put into effect immediately and last through at least January 7. The move came yesterday, after Ontario health officials reduced capacity at the home arenas of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators and the N-B-A's Toronto Raptors to 50 per cent starting Saturday.

Four Canadian teams are action today in the N-H-L. The struggling Montreal Canadiens look to snap a seven-game losing skid when they host the Philadelphia Flyers tonight, while the Edmonton Oilers carry a six-game losing streak into their home match with the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Ottawa Senators are on the road against Tampa Bay,  and Vancouver ride a five-game winning steak into San Jose.

The Chicago Blackhawks have settled a lawsuit by a former player who says he was sexually assaulted by an assistant coach. Representatives for the Blackhawks and former first-round pick Kyle Beach met with a mediator for the first time yesterday and shortly after they announced that the session had resulted in a confidential settlement.
