A 29-year-old Wabaseemoong resident, also known as Whitedog, is facing four charges after drugs and alcohol were seized at the community’s entrance.
Police say the incident took place at 11 p.m. on February 19, where officers and Wabaseemoong security stopped the vehicle at the community’s checkpoint, as police say they had information that the vehicle was transporting alcohol and drugs for resale.
The 29-year-old, whose name has been withheld by police, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking,
- Possession of Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking,
- Unlawfully Delivering Liquor for a fee
- Unlawfully Selling Liquor
Officers are thanking the community’s checkpoint and security workers for their help in keeping their community as safe as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic.
