Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) and the Kenora OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), have charged two accused with drug and weapons charges.
On Thursday, November 7, 2019 at approximately 1:00 am, police stopped a vehicle in the north side of Kenora for a Highway Traffic Act violation. Upon speaking to the driver, the investigation led to the arrest and search of the vehicle. The driver and passenger were arrested at the scene.
Police seized 44 grams of methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia items used in the drug trafficking trade. There was also a firearm and other weapons seized in the investigation. The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $12,000.
