The Dryden Days of Summer will be kicking off on July 4. Event coordinator Suzanne Scherban is excited, and hopes that the stores downtown will join in the fesivties.
"We're hoping people will decorate their storefronts, just outside their doors. Whether it's a pot of plants or a couple of fun chairs outside, patio chairs or whatever they want to do. Throw up balloons on their doorstep, just so that everybody knows it's kind of a party going on and everyone is involved." she said.
Every Thursday afternoon from July 4 until August 15, they will block off King Street from Earl Avenue to Whyte Avenue between 3 o'clock and 7 o'clock. They hope that all Dryden businesses, clubs, artists and groups in the area will join in on any Thursday.
She hopes that this will help to enhance a sense of community, partnership and good will in the city.
Every week will be different, with many different dancers, singers, artists and businesses joining in.
If you would like to get involved you can send an e-mail to the organizing committee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
