Parents considering sending their kids back to school with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board are reminded to fill out the online survey. Director of Education Sherri-Lynne Pharand explains why the feedback is important.
"Just a reminder for families we do require the survey information in order to allow us to carefully plan for the health and safety of each and every school building, the staff and the students who attend," she said, during last week's virtual open house presentation.
The first day of school for boards in the area is set for September 3.
The Kenora Catholic and Northwest Catholic district school boards will also be using results of an online survey.
Still, director of education Derek Haime adds they'll be as flexible as possible, when accommodating families -- who are initially a bit apprehensive about the first day of school -- will still be able to change their minds, but they may have to be patient.
"So, there may be a delay. It may not be the next day or sometimes even not the next week, but we will do it as quickly as we can," he said, in answer to questions from parents, during last week's virtual open house.
