Kenora city council is looking for solutions for the railway crossing on 16th Avenue. Operations manager Rick Perchuk says he has received notice from the federal government to fix the problem.

"Well, 16th Avenue has been identified as an issue of vehicles being trapped on the tracks during the train movements," he said.

"As a result of an incident, Transport Canada's come back to the city to try and identify a more long-term solution," he added.

Earlier this week, council talked about extending Ninth Street North, or reconfiguring Airport Road.
