Last night, at approximately 8:15 p.m., fire dispatch was notified of a house fire located in Eagle River. Crews from the Machin Fire Rescue were dispatched at that time, and they quickly arrived on scene. Upon arrival, heavy smoke was showing coming from the building eves and attic vents.

The fire was brought under control quickly by a collaborative effort from the Machin and Oxdrift fire departments. Unfortunately, the house had already suffered a significant amount of damage.

The fire originated from the kitchen area, but the cause is still unknown and under investigation at this time.
