Traffic is now flowing again along Hwy. 502 west of Dryden, and residents have been allowed to return to their homes on Lever Road.

Police had closed Hwy. 502, due to smoke from a nearby forest fire. The traffic was redirected through Hwy. 594 and Eagle River.

It's the third highway closure reported in the district Saturday afternoon. Highways have also been closed near Sioux Lookout and Shoal Lake, also due to forest fires.

Traffic along the Trans-Canada may also encounter smoke, as the fire near Shoal Lake was only four kilometres away with strong winds late Saturday afternoon.
