Highways have reopened in the area but drivers in northwestern Ontario are still being warned to stay home.

The Ministry of Transportation reported that Highway 17 was closed between the Ontario-Manitoba border and the Vermilion Bay area after multiple collisions this morning, but things have since reopened.

Although, traffic delays are still expected in multiple areas.

This morning’s incidents included a jackknifed transport truck and a collision near Triangle Lake, a disabled transport near Kenora and a closure near Clearwater Bay due to poor road conditions.

Residents can keep an eye on road conditions on the MTO’s 511 page.
