Kenora’s All Nations Health Partners is warning the community about reduced hours of operation and holiday closures for their COVID-19 assessment centre.

As the central laboratory that tests the nasal swabs will be closed over the holidays, the COVID-19 assessment centre will have reduced operating hours, and will be closed on December 24, 25, 26 and 31, as well as January 1 and 2.

People requiring COVID-19 testing during this time are asked to immediately self-isolate if they have any symptoms. You are asked not to go to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital’s emergency department for testing.

Community members who require testing are asked to call 807-468-9861, extension 2483, in order to be scheduled for the next available testing appointment, as walk-in tests are no longer allowed. You’re asked to leave your name, contact number, health card number and whether they are experiencing symptoms.

“Through this challenging year we’ve seen kindness, compassion, creativity, generosity, and togetherness. From all of us at the All Nations Health Partners, we wish you and yours a safe and happy Holiday Season,” wrote staff, in a prepared release.

The health partners add that appointments can be made for either an indoor assessment at the central site, or for a mobile assessment team to come directly to your home or First Nations community. In times of increased demand, wait times are expected to increase.
