Most horses don't actually like swimming, so supporters of Kenora's Bed 'N Bale say water polution in nearby Rabbit Lake shouldn't be much of an issue. The developers say they would need more than 300 horses or 6,000 pigs, in order to exceed provincial standards for waste and run-off.

A deputation came to council earlier in the month, saying they were concerned about water conservation issues. Kenora councillors deferred their decision, as they asked for more information on the project.

Council doesn't meet again until August.
