Hospital eases mask regulations

By Tim Davidson May 16, 2023 | 9:05 AM

A slight easing of mask requirements at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.

Masking will no longer be required in non-patient care areas.

The hospital says signs will show where masks are still needed.

That includes the Emergency Room, outpatient clinic areas, inpatient units and waiting areas.

As well, all visitors, patients, volunteers, vendors and contractors are still required to be screen when entering the hospital and you will be asked to take a mask.

President and CEO of the hospital, Ray Racette says this is a step forward to the gradual shift towards a pre-pandemic hospital environment.

In the meantime, the hospital will monitor the situation over the next month to determine if there are any additional areas that can go maskless.
