Steve Clark is the provincial minister responsible for municipal affairs and housing, and offered more help in a videotaped message for delegates, who are attending this year's virtual conference for the Rural Ontario Municipal Association.

"Like all of us, municipalities face a difficult fiscal reality and they must also adapt. That's why today I'm pleased to announce a new intake for projects, under the municipal modernization program," he said.

Clark agreed housing is a need across the province, and he's been working with municipalities and the federal government, in an effort to find better ways to move forward with new builds, especially during the pandemic. This includes changes to the process, so projects can be approved faster.
