Ice Dogs advance, Bombers win

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs are onto the next round of the SIJHL playoffs thanks to an emphatic 9-2 victory over the Fort Frances Lakers Friday night.

The Ice Dogs had four point games from James Hooton and Bryce Benfield.

Both had two goals and two assists while McLaren Paulson added two of his own.

The Ice Dogs win the series 4-1.

Meanwhile, the Sioux Lookout Bombers have taken a 3-2 lead in their series with the Wisconsin Lumberjacks.

The Bombers outlasted the Lumberjacks 4-3 in overtime Friday night in Sioux Lookout.

Alex Lucas scored the game winner for the Bombers in OT.

Game 6 of that series goes Sunday night in Spooner, Wisconsin.

The home team has won every game so far.
