Derek McPhail and the Dryden GM Ice Dogs are hoping to make up some ground in the standings, when they host the North Stars this weekend. The Ice Dogs are now six points behind the Lakers in the SIJHL standings.

McPhail has 30 points in 25 games, as the Ice Dogs look to close the gap on their rivals. In this week's rankings, the Laker improved to fifth in the country.

Fort Frances picked up a pair of wins over the weekend. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday night at the Dog Pound.

Dryden's coming off a 4-0 win over the English River Miners Saturday night.
