Yesterday evening, the SIJHL announced the suspension of Dryden Ice Dogs Forward Zachary Kercz. Kercz was suspended after being assessed a major penalty and subsequent game misconduct for checking from behind at the 20-minute mark of third period of Game 4 on Wednesday. He incurs an automatic two-game suspension, and one additional game for being assessed game misconduct in final 10 minutes of third period.

The Ice Dogs will take on the Ft. Frances Lakers in Fort tonight for Game 5 of the Bill Salonen Cup final. The best of seven series is tied at two wins a piece. The Ice Dogs will face the Lakers tomorrow in Dryden for Game 6 at the Dog Pound. Puck drops at 7:30 in the evening.

Kercz will serve his suspension during the remainder of the Bill Salonen final. Should the final be decided in six games, Kercz will sit out the opening contest of the Dudley-Hewitt Cup on Tuesday, April 28.
