Fans of the Dryden GM Ice Dogs are being asked to ‘blackout’ the Dryden Memorial Arena this weekend.

This year’s Hometown Proud ‘OUR PACK’ game is taking place on Saturday as the GM Ice Dogs take on the Wisconsin Lumberjacks at 7:30 CST.

Fundraising and Community Events Coordinator, Lori Russell, says the team is asking all fans to wear black to the arena.

“We’re extremely excited. The boys will be debuting the blackout jerseys for the game. And we’re encouraging all fans to wear black to the game. We want to blackout the game,” Russell explains.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the first 300 fans through the doors will receive a free glow-in-the-dark necklace. Beer gardens will be available with a one-of-a-kind special program, posters, a postgame autograph session, door prizes and more.

The event is in partnership and support of the Dryden Falcons Football program, and a ‘donation helmet’ will be made available for residents to donate towards. Hometown Proud events began in 2019.

“Every year, the Dryden GM Ice Dogs partner with a local community group or organization. We really want to ensure we give back to the community that supports the team. The Football team will be at the event helping us run activities and games, and we’re encouraging fans to bring change to donate.”

As of March 2, the Ice Dogs sit 2nd in the SIJHL with 65 points after 47 games. Kam River is in the top spot with 73 points, while Wisconsin sits in 6th with 36 points. Fort Frances trails the league with 18.
