The second draw is underway at the Northern Ontario Curling Playdowns at the Kenora Rec. Center. 

Defending women's champ Krista McCarville of Thunder Bay made quick work this morning of Jennifer Briscoe from Port Arthur with a 10-1 win.  With the victory, McCarville improves to 3-0 in round-robin play.

In other games, Jackie McCormick from Stratton who won her only game of the day yesterday is on the ice against Krista Burns, who is also undefeated at 2-0.

On the men's side, Ryan Meadows rink from the Kenora Curling Club is taking on Brian Adams Jr. from Port Arthur and clubmates Chris Burgess and Kory Carr both from Port Arthur are also doing battle.

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs solidified their second place standing in the SIJHL with a 3-2 win over the Sioux Lookout Bombers last night. Landon Stromme scored the game-winner in the second period with a short-handed goal.  Dryden's next game will be on Friday against Red Lake.

Members of the Kenora AAA Thistles are still off until February 4, and high school athletes are on a break while they write their exams.
