A request for ice time was made to the Recreation and Cultural Department recently.
The request was reviewed, but was turned down for the 2023/2024 season.
The City of Kenora says the decison was an administrative one, that was based not just on ice time, but several outside factors.
Through public consultation, concern has been raised by community and use groups and the city says it wants to take the necessary time to consider the addition of a Junior A hockey team in the future.
