The Kam River Fighting Walleye could be crowned the champions of the Superior International Junior Hockey League tonight, or the Thunder Bay North Stars will force one more game after tonight’s Game 6 match-up at the Fort William Gardens.

Thunder Bay’s Edison Weeks scored Game 5’s winner just over 12 minutes into overtime Sunday night. Netminder Eric Vanska stopped 47 of 50 shots for his 7th playoff win.

Tonight’s puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. EST and the Bill Salonen Cup will be in the building.

It would be Kam River’s first league championship as a franchise. Fighting Walleye coach Geoff Walker is also working towards his second straight SIJHL championship, after winning with the Red Lake Miners last season.
