The first day of the Kenora Bass International (KBI) is in the books!

Ian Waterer of Winnipeg and Motei Demers of Keewatin are in first place with a total of 20.19 lbs of bass at the end of day one. They also have day one's "big catch".

The team of Jeff Gustafson and Chris Savage caught day one's "big fish" with a weight of 3.78 lbs.

A total of 570 fish, weighing 1808.05 were caught on day one.

Take-offs for day two of KBI begin at 6:30 a.m. Friday morning, with weigh-ins starting at 4:00 p.m. on Kenora's Harbourfront.

Due to COVID-19, KBI is not allowing any in-person spectators this year, but people can view and keep track of the event on the KBI Facebook page and Youtube channel.

KBI winners will walk away with up to $30,000.
