The Kenora and District Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Kenora, Kenora Hospitality Alliance, and Harbourtown BIZ, will be bringing back three open air markets for the 2021 summer season.

"It's been wonderful working with the City. They have been fantastic in supporting the Chamber and supporting this event, because at the end of the day - it's going towards supporting local businesses. Also for providing the space for visitors and residents to come and buy people's wares, socialize and eat," says Dustin Fuller, Vice-President of KDCC.

Throughout the markets, COVID-19 precautions will be in place and organizers are hopeful restrictions will ease by then.

"There will be COVID protocols as we did last year, of course. This depends whether or not we will be able to hold the markets. In anticipation that we will, we have already begun getting things organized to hit the ground running," Fuller adds.

The Saturday markets will see an array of local businesses, artisans, organizations and musicians on Main Street on June 26, July 17, and August 14 from 10:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. A reminder, the City will be closing off a portion of Main Street to vehicular traffic at those times.

Local businesses are encouraged to register for a booth for the open air markets. The booths cost $35 a day or $105 for all three open air markets. The deadline to register along with payment for the June 26 market will be June 18. Booths are available on a first come first serve basis. To reserve a booth for your business, please email the Kenora Chamber at

Local musicians are invited to take part in the open air markets to entertain shoppers and can email for more information.
