Safeway’s docks when flooding was its worst.

The City of Kenora says work is continuing to reopen a number of roadways, docks and pieces of infrastructure after this spring’s nearly record-breaking rainfall, water levels and flooding.

The city says their Municipal Emergency Control Group, along with staff, are inspecting infrastructure that’s been affected by the high water levels to ensure it’s safe for public use.

The city says these inspections are being prioritized, and include wharfs, docks, roadways and more.

A list of the affected properties and pieces of infrastructure could not be made available by the City of Kenora. Staff ask for the public’s patience while these evaluations take place.

The City adds that elsewhere, their Transit service has returned to a full schedule with additional drivers. A half-day schedule’s been in place since May due to a driver shortage.
